Retro New Zealand designed and made men’s shirts, on a mission to eradicate the navy check shirt one at a time.

After many years of being behind the scenes in the manufacturing and production side of the fashion industry, Mo Cullen had long felt that the world of mens shirts needed a bit of a 'zhush' up!  Stumbling across a selection of amazing cotton prints was the spark that lit the fire - and the birth of Mo Cullen Shirtsmith came about.....like a lot of things in life and that old saying goes, 'good things take time'.  Mo has an eye for picking quirky and colourful prints and uses natural fibres and products wherever possible.  Mo Cullen shirts are all made from 100% shirt weight cotton with either corozo or coconut buttons.

Fabrics are sourced from around the world, including Los Angeles, Hawaii and also from local suppliers here in good old NZ. Some of these prints are uniquely New Zealand, harking back to the nostalgia of summer holidays spent at campgrounds, pohutukawas in full bloom, tui's and the good old kiwi batch.

Mo Cullen shirts are constructed just north of Auckland, at her workroom in Mahurangi West.  A small team of very talented individuals with many years of experience across the rag trade are her 'engine room'.

Mo is very proud of the fact that they are a high quality, New Zealand made product, and no shirt leaves the workroom without the once over from Mo herself.

Please enjoy your shirt, we enjoy making them, a lot of care goes into them, and we hope a lot of happiness is created by wearing them.
